FMAS has provided services to both the civilian and military agencies of the federal government. For the Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS), FMAS served as prime contractor on an effort that centralized data abstracting for all Medicare Peer Review Organizations. For the Department of Defense (DoD), FMAS, from 1986 through 1998, served as prime contractor on a project (Civilian External Peer Review Program) that assessed the quality of military inpatient healthcare at all 165 military treatment facilities in the United States and abroad. FMAS has supported the DHHS Office of the Inspector General in over 50 individual case review projects.

FMAS is presently under contract with the Veterans Administration (VA), Office of Medical – Legal Affairs, to provide peer review services regarding the VA’s professional liability claims. FMAS has a similar contract with the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania reviewing professional liability matters for the Pennsylvania State Department.
